Disneyland and California Adventure-Halloween

Fall time is one of the most exciting times of the year. In California, it can be sunny and hot for the majority of the year.

Because of this, it can often feel as if fall time never comes.

Going to Disneyland and California Adventure is the biggest reminder that it is finally fall time in California.

The busiest time for Disneyland is during the summer. Meaning longer lines, and constantly purchasing anything and everything cold and iced. Fall time is(in my opinion)the best time to visit the park.

On most days, the heat will be bearable and chilly by late afternoon, meaning you can finally rock that Mickey Mouse sweater you probably over-payed for at the park.

This blog post will cover everything you can expect from Disneyland and California Adventure during the fall season.

  1. Fall Decoration/Park Transformation

It may not be snowing in Anaheim, California, but the fall time decorations at the parks really make it feel like the season has changed.

From the huge Mickey pumpkin head in Disneyland, to the transformed “Haul-O-Ween” Cars land in California Adventure. Both parks are unique, family-friendly, and perfect for your fall family pictures.

  1. Rides/Attractions

Aside from the decorations, California Adventure does not have many changes in their rides. The most popular attraction is, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! with some small changes in soundtrack and storyline.

The rides in Cars Land change to the names, “Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree” and “Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween”.

The biggest attraction changes will be found in the Disneyland park. First, the Haunted Mansion ride completely transforms from Haunted Mansion, to the Nightmare Before Christmas.

Let me just say, if you are a fan of this classic halloween movie, you will love this ride.

Space Mountain will transform into Ghost Galaxy, with ghost projections throughout the ride and a new soundtrack.

  1.  Mickeys Halloween Party

Trick or treating is not exclusively for kids at the Disneyland park. Adults, teenagers, and children are all welcome to attend.

Character meet-and-greets, Halloween themed fireworks, Halloween parade, costumes, and trick or treating are just a few of the reasons why everyone should attend at least once.

Mickey’s Halloween Party happens on select nights in October and will require a separate ticket not included in general admission.

You can select the night of your choosing as well as purchase the tickets on the Disneyland website.

  1. Fall-themed food

Enough said.

This needs no explanation. Pumpkin everything, fall flavors, halloween themed snacks. What more could one ask for?

Whether you attend Disneyland, California Adventure, or both parks in one day, fall time is  one of the best times to visit.
