Reflecting On 2017 + What’s Next For My Blog?

New Year

Looking back at 2017 brings a familiar feeling. Probably because, it seems as if I just set goals for 2017. I have felt this familiar need to get back into the gym, drink green smoothies, and start buying workout clothes to motivate me to actually go into the gym. Once more, as I sit here stuffed on the extra pounds I have probably gained this Christmas season, I am setting those exact goals that I failed to maintain in 2017.

Along with the majority of world- probably signing up for another gym membership that will eventually be forgotten about as the months go on. Something about a new year bringing new beginnings, is a motivation for everyone- isn’t it?

A common theme I have noticed from scrolling down social media is that everyone is READY to leave 2017 behind. Understandably so, I mean  it was a rough year for many people. And let’s not even get into politics…

Let’s not even focus on the negative- keep that in 2017. A few wonderful things happened in 2017 that I would like to document in this little blog of mine. SPOILER ALERT- I’m going to sound very sappy.

Reflecting On 2017

First of all, let me just say how happy I am for 2017. Although it was a rough year for a variety of reasons, I am thankful it happened. I mean first and foremost, it was the year of WOMEN!! Who rules the world? Women do, and finally everyone else is catching on.

Secondly, 2017 was the year I had enough courage to create this blog. I always admired other bloggers, and never did it cross my mind that I could be one myself. I decided to listen to my heart (told you I was sappy), and I was immediately surprised by the support I received.

So grateful for the blogging community that welcomed me, and supported me when I first began. I am here for all of you, and let’s continue to help each other grow in 2018!!

Finally, 2017 was the year I went on my first traveling adventure. I have been to many places in the US by road trip, but had never actually been on a plane. This summer I visited Isla Mujeres with my husband, and it was the highlight of my year! You can read all about that adventure here.

What’s Next For 2018?

If I learned one thing in 2017, that is to not allow anxiety and fear to prevent me from being happy. The word I am bringing into 2018? Fearless. This year I will be be focusing on my relationship with God, my marriage, school, finding a new place, and truly devoting myself into this blog.

I have so many things I want to accomplish. This is the year I want to organize, write down ideas, and fill out my planner. I want to pre-schedule blog posts and social media posts. To sum it up, I want to be more organized than ever before. I want to challenge myself to at least two new blog posts a week. If you have any suggestions on the days I should schedule my posts for,  please let me know in the comments below.

Also, if you have any blog post ideas you would like to see from me, it would mean everything if you let me know. I want to create content you want to see, whatever that may me. Your feedback helps me to create better content.

To be completely honest, my mind is already cluttered with the many things I want to accomplish in terms of my blog and social media. I’m trying my best to remember that saying, “a jack of all trades is master of none”.

For now, I will be focusing on creating more content for my blog, and trying my best to stay active on social media. Recently, I have been working to improve my Instagram feed. Follow me here, and let me know your thoughts. 🙂

I love this post. I personally found 2017 to be my worst year yet, but it certainly left so many lessons learned now!
I feel, just like you, that it’s been the same for many people and I’m glad to see that everyone is so determined to leave it all behind and make changes for 2018.
I’m glad to hear that your year wasn’t all that bad and as for blog posts… I know you’re from California and to be honest I’d love to see more of that, but that’s probably just me because I’m in love with that state. Literally left my heart there when I went years ago!

I’m positive this year will be a great one and best of luck with your blog and goals!

Girl I already think your insta is bomb! Lol it’s major inspo for me to get myself together and start mine smh. I know what you mean, anxiety can make you feel like you’re stuck and trick your mind that you can’t accomplish something so I’m glad you’re not letting it get in the way of you awesomeness! Best of luck with your goals! 🙂

I know we’re already 13 days into the year but this post has inspired me even more for 2018. I’d love to carry the word fearless through the year but I have such bad anxiety that that’s so difficult to do – but I’ll try. I’m also trying to be more organised (and I was an organised person to start with!) and I’m so glad to hear you went on a plane and had a wonderful adventure despite your anxieties. I hope 2018 is wonderful for you xxx
